Year of Foundation
Before video conferencing became a mainstream way of communication, telephones were the primary means of connecting business and individuals around the world. PSTN lines or Public Switched Telephone Networks were the chief means of communication.
Expensive hardware based video conferencing systems pioneered by Cisco, Polycom and later LifeSize were the first to bring SD and HD video conferencing to the world. At this point only fortune 500 companies were able to afford this equipment.
